The old natwest bank project

Updated: Sep 24

BEFORE

We spotted this old NatWest bank going to auction in just a few days time. It was in terrible condition and had been neglected for the last 12 years.

It was an online auction and we decided to bid up to £30,000 but someone bedded £30,500 so I decided to make one last bid for £31,000. then my laptop died and I assumed we had lost the auction but when I powered it back on the first thing I saw was

' congratulations you have won! ' I couldn't believe it!

28 days later and we had the keys. we started stripping out the property and completely took it back to brick. there was a lo

t of water getting into the property so we started to investigate and found out that a mains waste pipe had been leaking onto the front roof for years which had eventually seeped through the roof and into the building.

This was just one of the big issues we had to deal with here. but after 3 months things were starting to finally take shape. That's

when we started having issues with the upstairs property, that we don't own. the tennant kept leaving their tap on which overflowed out of her sink and then down to us. we had just plastered and fitted a new kitchen when this happened and since then its happened 3 more time!

after a long 6 months we finally finished the project and spent just over £63,000 on the renovation with auction fees and other legal costs that gave us a total spend of £101,000

we have since had the property valued and the valuation came back at £250,000
